Vision:
Kentucky stands as a singularly qualified region to showcase a revitalized local economy for the 21st century’s challenges of climate change, globalization, and threats to democracy. Through unique geography and natural resources, the Commonwealth’s position in the history and culture of the United States, and the character of its people, Kentucky stands example of an interconnected web of local and regional sustainable growth and self-sufficiency. Watershed Festival is a premier spotlight on the communication between Kentucky’s regions and its connections to the past and future through music, story, advocacy, and education.
Mission:
Watershed exists to CELEBRATE Kentucky’s cultural heritage through participation in its unique musical forms, EDUCATE the region about the similarities between Kentucky’s different peoples and their capabilities for self-sufficiency, and ADVOCATE for progressive solutions to Kentucky’s 21st century challenges in water quality, sustainability, social and economic justice, and diversity
